Safety First:
Visitor Policy Update July 15, 2020
Beginning on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, in alignment with Phase 4 of Governor Pritzker's Restore Illinois reopening plan, Union County Hospital's Visitor Policy is as follows:
- Visiting Hours for the Medical Surgical Unit are between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM
- Visiting Hours for the Emergency Department and Surgery Department are case dependent
Visitors must call the House Supervisor (or approved team member) at
(618) 833-4511 in order to be screened 24 hours before arriving at the facility. All visitors will also be screened upon arrival to the facility. If screening indicates no signs of illness:
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as a mask will be issued to each visitor. It is to be worn so it covers the nose and mouth at all times while inside the facility.
- Limitation of one visitor/day.
- Proper social/personal distancing of 6 feet or greater must be maintained at all times.
- Visitors less than 18 years old are not allowed unless under special circumstance as determined by hospital leadership.
- No visitors are allowed if the patient is positive for COVID-19, Influenza, or any other ailment requiring isolation or if the patient is listed as being a Patient Under Investigation.
- Indoor visits will be limited to 1 hour. Outdoor visits will be limited to 30 minutes (visitation times are subject to change).
- Emergency Department companion (1 visitor).
- Surgery Department companion (1 visitor).
- Approved Visitors are asked to stay in the patient’s room, or designated waiting area, throughout the length of their visit.
* Some exceptions to these visitor restrictions may be made in special circumstances. Other considerations are made on a case-by-case basis when essential to ensure the emotional health and well-being of the patient. Check with the nursing staff if you have questions.
Details
- Wash your hands often while visiting our facility. It prevents the spread of germs that can cause infection.
- If you've got a fever, cold, or any infection symptoms, please stay home.
- Union County Hospital is a tobacco-free campus. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the grounds.
- Don't bring patients food or candies unless your attending doctor gives permission.
